Luminaria Opens Nov. 12 With Five New Stops. Here's How Lehi Locals Can Plan Their Night

  • November 5, 2026

Thanksgiving Point's Luminaria presale closed at 11:59 p.m. on Oct. 31, and general ticket sales began Nov. 1. Two ways to pay less are still in place: the night you pick and whether you hold a Thanksgiving Point membership. For anyone in Lehi who goes to Ashton Gardens every December, those two choices now matter more than the calendar did in October.

The season opens Thursday, Nov. 12, and runs through Jan. 9, 2027. More than 10 million lights will cover 50 acres of Ashton Gardens. That leaves about a week to plan before opening night.

The Presale Price Didn't Disappear. It Moved to Members.

Thanksgiving Point prices Luminaria in three tiers: Value, Standard and Premium dates. During presale, the ticket page showed regular-season prices crossed out next to the discounted ones. Those crossed-out prices are what tickets cost now.

Here is what each group pays at regular-season prices, starting Nov. 1:

Ticket Value date Standard date Premium date
Adult, general admission $24 $26 $29–31
Adult, member $19 $22 $25–27
Senior, general admission $21 $23 $26–28
Youth, general admission $19 $21 $24–26
Child, general admission $17 $19 $22–24
Youth, member $16 $19 $21–23
Child, member $14 $17 $19–21

Compare the member row with what a non-member paid in October. A non-member adult paid $19 for a Value date during presale. A member adult pays $19 for the same date now. Adult prices match on every tier, and youth and child prices match on Value and Standard dates. On Premium dates, members' regular senior, youth and child prices come in $1 under what non-members paid during presale.

The spread between nights is bigger than the spread between presale and regular season. Take two adults and two youth tickets:

  • Value date, members: $70
  • Value date, general admission: $86
  • Premium date at the top of the range, general admission: $114

That is a $44 gap for the same 10 million lights, depending on the night and the card in your wallet. Anyone who goes more than once a season, or who also brings out-of-town relatives, can do that math against the price of a membership.

Which Nights Are Value Nights

The official ticket page uses a color-coded "Choose Your Night" calendar, and Thanksgiving Point also posts a downloadable 2026 pricing calendar. Opening night is one of them: Thursday, Nov. 12 is listed at Value date pricing. For every other date, check the calendar before you pick, since the tier sets the price more than anything else in the cart.

The posted hours show which stretches of the season Thanksgiving Point expects to be busiest:

  1. Nov. 12–24, Nov. 30, Dec. 1–3, 7–10, 14–17 and 29, and Jan. 1–2: time slots 4 to 9 p.m., last entrance 9:15 p.m.
  2. Nov. 25, Nov. 27–28, Dec. 4–5, 11–12 and 18–28: time slots 4 to 9:30 p.m., last entrance 9:45 p.m.
  3. Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 26: time slots 5 to 9:30 p.m., last entrance 9:45 p.m.
  4. Jan. 4–9: time slots 5 to 8:30 p.m., last entrance 8:45 p.m.

Luminaria is closed every Sunday and on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Entry slots open every 15 minutes. The extended-hours group covers the long run from Dec. 18 to Dec. 28, apart from the Christmas closures, along with the Friday and Saturday pairs in early December. The final week of the season has the shortest window, starting an hour later and ending a half hour earlier than most nights.

Thanksgiving Day Is Busy at Thanksgiving Point

Luminaria is open on Thanksgiving, Nov. 26, with a later 5 p.m. start. The same date brings the Runtastic THANKFUL race to Thanksgiving Point at 2912 Executive Pkwy. It's a family Thanksgiving Day race with half-marathon, 10K, 5K and kids' run options. For a Lehi household that wants to start and end the holiday at Thanksgiving Point, both events are on the official calendar. Check the race page for start times before you build a day around it.

Five New Stops Give Repeat Visitors a Reason to Return

For returning visitors, this year's additions are the main change from past seasons. Thanksgiving Point's Luminaria 2026 announcement lists five additions:

  • Christmas on the Lake: tall illuminated Christmas trees rise above the water and reflect across the lake. It's a new scene in the gardens and a new spot for holiday photos.
  • Snow Glow Dance Party: inside the Greenhouse, families dance to holiday songs on a colorful glowing dance floor.
  • Ignite the Night: a new nighttime show at the Waterfall Amphitheatre that combines animation, music, lighting, special effects and flames on a 120-foot digital stage. It tells an original Luminaria story about redemption and belonging.
  • Carol-oke: a microphone for Christmas classics, open to anyone who wants to sing or sing along from the crowd.
  • Gingerbread Lane: a path past glowing gingerbread figures, houses and candy displays.

The returning favorites are still there. The Merry Mosaic has 6,500 glowing luminaries and a signature 120-foot Christmas tree synchronized to holiday music. KUTV's Fresh Living segment on the season also points to the two sculpture gardens celebrating the life and teachings of Jesus Christ, and it notes that many nights sell out.

A season with five new stops makes a two-visit plan easier to justify. One night covers the new stops, and a later night covers the Mosaic and the classic walk. That plan is where membership pricing and Value dates add up.

Paying a Little Extra for a Flexible Ticket

A Lehi winter night can turn icy, and a sick kid can cancel plans at 3 p.m. Exchangeable Tickets cost $2 more than regular tickets, and they are the only tickets that can be exchanged on the day of your visit. The cart terms say there's no exchange fee. You can swap before or on the ticket date for an equally priced date and time if one is available, and you pay the difference to move to a higher-priced night.

That last rule ties back to the tiers. Moving from a Value night to a Premium night costs you the price gap. Moving to an equally priced date and time costs nothing beyond the $2 you already paid, and since Premium prices are listed as a range, two Premium nights may not cost the same. A family of four that adds exchangeability to a member Value booking pays $78 instead of $70. That's still less than the same family pays for general admission on a Value night.

What the Extras Cost Now

The add-ons are where a night out gets more expensive. These are the prices Thanksgiving Point currently lists on its Luminaria event page. None of them include admission.

  • Private firepit: $120 for two hours for up to eight guests, with s'mores supplies for eight.
  • Heated private igloo: $225 for two hours for up to eight guests, with eight "5 Punch" Food Cards included.
  • Food Punch Cards: $49 for 15 punches, $35 for 10 and $18 for five, plus tax. Online orders are picked up at the Visitor Center entrance to Luminaria.

The food lineup includes hot cocoa and Luminaria's mini donuts. The Warming & Gathering Tent is a private option for larger groups, with festive décor and a firepit. Split eight ways, the firepit adds $15 a person, s'mores supplies included.

Anyone who would rather eat before the 4 p.m. slots open has a new Lehi option. Dough Lady opened its second storefront in September 2026 at 3156 N. 1200 West, Suite 101, selling cinnamon rolls in rotating flavors, coffee and take-and-bake dough, as The Salt Lake Tribune reported.

Every Luminaria ticket also supports Thanksgiving Point's nonprofit mission, including Every Kid Counts, its program to make hands-on learning more accessible to children across Utah. Thanksgiving Point describes itself as a community-owned nonprofit.
